About Me
I live in the local area with my husband and two teenage daughters. We are a very active family, enjoying walking our dog and cycling. We also love our family holidays and spending quality time together.
I have been teaching for 22 years although I took a break from the classroom in order to bring up my own children. During that time I tutored children privately at their homes.
I began working at Redfield Edge in 2008; I have worked within many classes in KS2 but predominately in lower KS2.
Education Philosophy
I firmly believe that a teacher should remain consistent throughout, remaining approachable and project a sense of humour and a positive attitude. I hope my enthusiasm is conveyed to the children in turn making their learning more enjoyable.
I know that every classroom consists of individuals that vary not only in ability, but also in learning styles. I aim to give each child the tools with which to be successful and achieve their full potential; helping children to develop by believing in them as capable individuals.
I am responsible for planning and teaching to the needs of each child so that all learners can feel successful. A curriculum that involves the interests of the children and makes learning relevant to life is essential.
I know the importance of creating a secure and supportive classroom climate where children are encouraged to take increasing responsibility for their own learning and so in turn become confident and enthusiastic learners.
